Add a defined tree-work package to your job

We can quote for pruning, tree removal, stump grinding and agreed tree or vegetation clearance. You might need a one-off package, work from a client’s tree survey, or support across several properties.

Send the work schedule if one exists. If the brief is only “cut the trees back”, we first need to establish the intended result and whether there is enough information to price it. An unclear instruction can become a dispute between three parties once work starts.

We agree what sits within our scope and what stays with your team, including access preparation, material handling and any landscaping after the tree work.

Tell us whether you are tendering or ready to instruct

Put your pricing deadline and your client’s work deadline in separate lines. They are often different dates, and we need both to give you a useful answer.

Agree the client-contact arrangement

Before visiting, we agree who is the commercial contact and who can approve work. Tell us whether you want quotation discussions routed through your office and who should attend any site meeting.

If the end client asks for extra pruning or another tree to be removed while we are there, the change goes through the agreed approval route. The request, price effect and instruction should be recorded before additional work proceeds. Urgent safety concerns still need prompt communication to the people responsible on site.

If you have confidentiality, branding or site-notification requirements, send them before appointment so we can confirm the arrangement. They should not be assumptions discovered on the first morning.

Divide the job before dividing the price

Check the appointment requirements early

We can provide the published business credentials for your checks: NPTC qualifications relevant to the work, Constructionline Gold details and the £10m public liability certificate. Site-specific risk assessments and method statements are supplied before the work starts.

If your client needs other documents or particular qualifications, send the requirement before pricing. Certificates for one task do not automatically cover every operation in a larger specification.

The business is not an Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor, and Ross is not DBS checked. If either is mandatory for this appointment, raise it at the outset so suitability can be established before you spend time on the quotation.

Price the complete package

A day rate on its own does not show whether the work includes equipment, transport, waste removal or the finish your client expects. We set out the package being quoted and the assumptions behind it.

Let us know if your team will remove material or prepare access. Those arrangements need to be specific enough to price: what will be ready, where material will go and who will be available on the day.

Payment terms, purchase-order requirements, quote validity and any costs associated with changes to the agreed programme are settled before instruction. We confirm capacity for the proposed dates; an initial price enquiry does not reserve attendance.

Give your client a clear completion record

Agree your reporting requirements when requesting the price. At completion, the work record can follow the references in the instructed schedule, showing what was done, agreed changes and any items left outstanding.

Specify the photographs and applicable waste records your file needs, along with the person who will accept the completed work. If your team is handling reinstatement, the handover should record the ground or work-area condition they are taking over.

You can then reconcile the completed tree work with the instruction and your client invoice without relying on a general “all done” message.

Questions about working together

Can you price works from another arboriculturist’s report?

Yes. Send the report, tree-location plan and the recommendations you want priced. We will identify missing information or site checks required before quoting. A report is not, by itself, permission to carry out every recommendation.

Can our team handle the clearance afterwards?

Tell us what you propose to handle. We can agree the division of work and material handling before pricing, including the equipment, timing and access each team needs.

Can you work outside the client’s normal hours?

Ask for the required window when you enquire. Suitability, availability and any additional costs need to be confirmed for the particular job.

Do you supply an individual climber or labour only?

This offer is for a defined tree-work package. If you need a different arrangement, describe it when you call so we can confirm whether it is available.

Can we begin with one job?

Yes. Send one live scope and we can establish the price, working arrangements and required records. Further sites can be discussed once their requirements and locations are known.
